About our Doulas

Janice Banther, CCE, CD(DONA)
Janice has been a birth doula long before it had a name.  In fact, this is her 25th year as a doula!  She started in 1983 and still loves each birth that she attends.  After all of these years, the wonder of birth is still precious and amazing each time.

She is a certified childbirth educator with CAPPA and a certified labor doula with CAPPA and DONA International.  Janice also enjoys being a postpartum doula. She is also in the process of becoming certified in Happiest Baby On The Block.  Her goal as a birth doula is to help the mother and her partner have the birth that they want to experience.

She is experienced in medicated births, natural births, water births, cesarean births, multiples and adoption.  Her greatest love is God.  Her greatest pride and joy is her husband, Barry and her two dons, David and John and daughter-in-law, Ruth.  Her greatest desire is to help women have a positive birth experience that equips them to be nurturing and loving parents.

Hallie Dedrick, Birth Doula
Hallie realized she had a strong desire to work with pregnant women after the birth of her daughter in January 2007.  Through her personal experience, she learned the importance of having knowledge about pregnancy, labor and birth, and the value of a positive support system.  This had led her to pursuing her certifications for being a Birth Doula, Childbirth Educator, and Lactation Educator.  Hallie believes that birth is a sacred event and is always honored to be part of it.  She also has a love for helping fathers/partners become involved on their comfort level, creating memories and strengthening family bonds.  She has experience with birth in both hospitals and birth centers.  Hallie has supported moms with natural, medicated and cesarean birth.  She is certified in CPR and NPR (Neonatal Resuscitation), and is in training as a Birth Assistant at Breath of Life Birth Center in Largo.  Hallie lives in central Pinellas County along with her husband and daughter, and their two corgis.  She has a love for music, dogs, movies and spending time with family and friends.
